Mortality

A couple weeks ago a very dear friend was diagnosed with uterine cancer. She has had surgery at the University of Washington Cancer Center 2 weeks ago and will begin scheduling chemotherapy in 10 days. This type of cancer doesn’t have a very good successful treatment rate, only 30% survival.

I went up to visit Mandilee last Saturday. She looks pretty good, just weak from the surgery. I feel very sad though, I don’t want to lose my friend and I don’t want to see her family so hurt. Mandi holds that family together and after many years of struggle the kids and dad have finally begun to get along. Then I think of my own health and I knwo I need to work harder at eating right and some kind of exercise. Since my thyroid is usually out of whack I find it very difficult to have the energy to exercise. So I’ll try a new doctor and I’ll start following the Sugar Solution diet (good for diabetics, I’m at risk).  I’m tired just thinking about it…………

Time to start

This is my first attempt at a blog but I spend so much time at a computer and I need to put some things on paper for myself, my son, and someday grandchildren……
